I guess I'll never get to tell you about everywhere I've been, cos everything I've seen someone's seen it all before. And it's so boring for both of us, with you half listening, staring out the window as I lie wildly trying to keep your interest.
You lean your head in close to me and say "Maybe we'd have been better off in the sixties" I couldn't believe it. I said "We're not dead yet, this year could be the best yet. I mean I don't expect that you could just accept it, but remember when we invented nostalgia? What solid proof that the past was really better when there's even a word for the feeling. Who the hell do you think we're kidding?"
